Amethyst Stone Qualities

Amethyst is a form of quartz and comes in a variety of shades, ranging from lightest, pinkish lilac to dark purple. 


Amethyst symbolizes peace, sincerity, candour, protection, purification and Devine connection. Its internal energy helps to find inner peace and inner harmony to maintain health. Amethyst can help develop the internal capacity of a person, to open the doors to the higher realms, to comprehend the universal wisdom. It is a birthstone for those who are born in February and is especially beneficial for Aquarius, Libra and Gemini. Amethyst is often used for spiritual protection and is associated with the Third Eye (6th), Crown (7th) and Etheric (8th and beyond) chakras. 



The ancient Greeks believed that Amethyst can contribute to the rejuvenation of the body, reduce wrinkles, and remove freckles and age spots. The stone was placed under the pillow at night to prevent nightmares, insomnia cure, call a pleasant dream. In ancient Rome Amethyst was placed in a glass of wine, because it was believed that it protects a person from uncontrolled drinking and even neutralizes poison. Today Amethyst is used to improve cerebral circulation, treat insomnia, anxiety and nervous breakdowns.

For this shoot we decided to go all the way out with the vintage theme. The 70's boho chic look is one of my favourites in this shoot and showcases the long necklaces perfectly.
